About the Founder
Austin Forbord moves between disciplines with the same vision that has defined his career — creating spaces that shape culture. Before stepping into the world of design, he was deeply embedded in the arts, working as a choreographer, filmmaker, and founder of a contemporary art gallery. His work in the dance and performance world instilled a deep understanding of space, movement, and the way environments influence experience — an approach that later informed his leadership at DZINE, San Francisco’s renowned showroom blending furniture, art, and interior design.
With Salone, Austin is building something more than a showroom — it’s a space where design, art, and culture collide. Rooted in the Arts District, Salone is not just about furniture; it’s about creating an environment where ideas take shape, where design is immersive, and where commerce and creativity exist in constant dialogue.
